First take on chile

Unfortunately this is the first time I have gotten the internet working and a chance to post something on the blog. The wireless at the hotel never seems to work so I have to post from a local McDonalds.

The first week has surely been interesting. We have already been on four out of the five company visits, and I have to say I've learned a lot. I was surprised at how much goes into the wine making process at Vina Indomita. It is far more complex than I ever imagined, there is more than meets the eye. It was interesting trying the wine and touring the facilities. The employees at the vineyard were very welcoming towards our group.

LAN airlines was also very intriguing. Being that it was my assigned company, I had the opportunity to ask a lot of questions and receive great feedback. The instructor was very informative and passionate about his position with the company.
We spent today at a beautiful resort where food and drinks were all inclusive (a great way to save money). We introduced the Chileans to a few American customs and they introduced us to a few of theirs. We played soccer (futbol) on a small, concrete court that was similar to our tennis courts in America. As you would imagine, we were quite outplayed, but everyone had a lot of fun.

I am really looking forward to having some free time to witness the Chilean culture first hand (without having a translator telling me everything that is being said). I hope to find internet more regularly so I can post more often, but I make no promises.

Peace(co), love, happiness...
